CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Sophomore Will Chambers was the latest in the parade of Crimson men's volleyball players to be honored this week, as the native of Honolulu, Hawaii was named to the EIVA All-Academic team. Chambers, who is currently studying physics, was one of 10 players to receive the award.
The middle blocker played in 21 of 23 matches for the Crimson this season as he tallied 112 kills during 2012, and averaged 1.45 kills per set. Chambers led the team with 64 blocks this season and maintained a 0.83 block per set average, helping to defend the middle.
In order to be eligible for the academic honor, a player must be a sophomore or higher, maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and have participated in at least 60% of games played.
Harvard will now turn its attention to George Mason on Thursday as the team looks defeat the Patriots for the second time this season in the semifinal round of the EIVA tournament. The match is slated for Thursday, April 26 at 5:30 p.m.
