CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Nick Madden and junior DJ White registered six kills apiece, but the No. 13 Harvard men's volleyball team fell to No. 2 Loyola Chicago, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Malkin Athletic Center.

Senior Kyle Rehkemper, freshman Casey White and junior Caleb Zimmick each scored three kills for Harvard (0-3). Freshman Nick Bendell tallied 16 assists. Madden led the Crimson with 10 digs, while Zimmick added four blocks.

Sophomore Nicholas Olson and redshirt-freshman Owen McAndrews notched a match-high eight kills each with Olson hitting a .700 to help Loyola Chicago move to 6-1 on the season.

Following a see-saw opening of the first set that featured a lead change and seven ties, Loyola Chicago jumped out to a 14-9. The Crimson was unable to take the lead as the visitors tallied 11 of the final 21 points to take the first frame, 25-19.

The Ramblers took a 3-1 lead to open the second stanza, but the Crimson bounced back to pull within two, 9-7. A 9-2 stretch that put Loyola Chicago on top 17-10 was the difference as the Ramblers turned that advantage into a 25-14 triumph.

The Crimson could not rally in the third frame, and Torey Darin scored a kill to seal the sweep with a 25-14 victory in set three.

Harvard will make the short trip to crosstown rival MIT Saturday, Feb. 1.
