The honor marks the second conference award of the year for Zimmick (Gil Talbot).
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Caleb Zimmick of the Harvard men's volleyball team has been named EIVA Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office.
The senior captain from Middleton, Wisconsin, was named to the Hall of Fame Morgan Classic All-Tournament team after a pair of dominant performances at the net. In the first round of the tournament, a 3-1 win over Concordia-Irvine, Zimmick blocked a season-high nine attacks, while also contributing seven kills. The middle blocker backed up his performance with a pair of blocks in the championship match over Springfield, another 3-1 victory for the Crimson
Zimmick moved into sole possession of fourth place on Harvard's all-time solo blocks list, with 42.This is Zimmick's second weekly EIVA award of the season, and sixth total conference award.
The Crimson returns to EIVA play on Friday, Feb. 27 against Saint Francis (Pa.), and Saturday, Feb. 28 against Penn State. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. at the Malkin Athletic Center, and can be seen on the Ivy League Digital Network.
