BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Caleb Zimmick of the Harvard men's volleyball team has been named EIVA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office. The honor is the fourth of the year for Zimmick, who earned the honor previously on January 26, February 23, and March 30.
The middle blocker recorded six blocks to help limit visiting George Mason to a .106 hitting percentage, and lead Harvard to a 3-1 win. The victory secured a place in the EIVA Playoffs for the Crimson. Zimmick's strong outing marked the eighth time this season he has rejected six or more attacks, and he continues to lead the EIVA with 1.17 blocks per set.
Harvard concludes regular season play with Senior Night against Sacred Heart on Saturday, April 25 at the Malkin Athletic Center. First serve is slated for 4 p.m. The Crimson will then travel to Penn State for the EIVA Tournament April 29-May 1.
