The award comes on the heels of Clemens' selection to the All-EIVA first team (Gil Talbot).
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Branden Clemens of the Harvard men's volleyball team has been named to the EIVA All-Academic team, as announced by the league office.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes had to participate in 60 percent of their team's sets, maintain a 3.50 GPA, or higher, and be of at least sophomore standing. Clemens earned the honor for the second consecutive season.
Clemens ended the season second on the team with 3.09 kills per set, ranking seventh in the EIVA, and third in digs per set (1.76) and blocks per set (0.75), which rank 11th and 12th in the EIVA, respectively. The Carmel, Indiana, native was named the Off The Block/Springbak National Player of the Month in February, and was also the MVP of the Hall of Fame Morgan Classic. The outside hitter has moved into ninth-place on Harvard's career digs list (338), and 11th on Harvard's all-time kills list (564). Clemens was named to the All-EIVA first team earlier this week.
Harvard travels to Penn State for the EIVA Championships, where it will take on George Mason Wednesday, April 29 at 5 p.m. The match can be seen live on GoPSUsports.com.
