Harvard earned its second EIVA accolade in junior White (Zack Williamson).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Casey White of the Harvard men's volleyball team has been named EIVA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office. The honor is the first of the year for the junior and the third of his career.
The outside hitter recorded a career-high 21 digs as he assisted Harvard in a three-set sweep of Sacred Heart on Saturday. White registered nine kills in the victory, as well. The Hermosa Beach, California native now sits sixth in digs on Harvard's all-time list with 432, while also ranking fourth in the EIVA with 2.37 digs per set.
White's award marked the second time this season that a Harvard student-athlete has been named EIVA Player of the Week. Freshman Trevor Dow was the first Crimson to be decorated with the honor on Feb. 29.
Harvard welcomes Holy Names to Cambridge on Friday, March 11 for a 7 p.m. start time, which will be broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.
