CWPA Northern Division Standings
Harvard hosts Fordham and St. Francis (N.Y.) in crucial games
this weekend, as the Crimson takes on the Rams Saturday and the
Terriers Sunday. Harvard boasts a 5-14 overall record and 3-2
record in Northern Division contests, while Fordham is 2-1 in the
conference and 9-12 overall. St. Francis enters the weekend with a
9-3 overall mark.
About Harvard:
The Crimson is looking to rebound after dropping two Northern
Division matches last weekend. Harvard is lead by senior co-captain
Egen Atkinson with 26 goals to his credit. Junior Alex Thompson is
second on the team in scoring with 19 goals. Harvard closes out the
regular season this weekend, before competing in postseason action
as the team hosts the Northern Division Championships Nov. 7-8.
About Fordham:
The Rams find themselves in the middle of the pack in the Northern
Divison with two wins for four points which ties them with M.I.T.
Fordham narrowly edged out Queens (N.Y.) for an 11-10 victory Oct
14. Ryan Hultman led the Rams in scoring against the Knights with
nine goals. Fordham has beaten Harvard twice this season, at the
Princeton Invitational and the ECAC Championships.
About St. Francis (N.Y.):
The No. 19 Terriers are riding a six-game winning streak entering
the weekend. St. Francis has only dropped games to Air Force, Cal
Baptist and Pacific this season. Following the loses to Air Force
and Cal Baptist, the Terriers turned around and defeated them.
Recently, St. Francis downed Queens (N.Y.) by an overwhelming score
of 22-8.
Honoring the Seniors:
Four Crimson players will don the Harvard headgear in regular
season play for the last time in their careers this weekend. The
Crimson will honor Egen Atkinson, Thomas Bailey, Nikhil Balaraman
and Dan Furman this weekend as the program shows appreciation for
their hard work and dedication to the program.
