CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- In the final game of the
regular season, the Harvard men's water polo team suffered an 18-10
defeat to No. 19 St. Francis (N.Y.) Sunday afternoon at Blodgett
Pool. Alexandre Popp played well in net for the Crimson,
making 11 stops.
Harvard (5-16) grabbed an early lead, but the Terriers pulled away in the second quarter, due in part to the Crimson's 14 ejections during the contest. Harvard also saw three of its players foul out during the game.
Offensively, Egen Atkinson, Alex Thompson, Luka Babic and Bret Voith netted two goals apiece, while Kevin DiSilvestro and Evan Zepfel notched a goal each for the Crimson.
Harvard, which finished the regular season with a 3-3 CWPA Northern Division record, has earned the No. 4 seed and will play No. 5 seed MIT in the first round of the Northern Division Championships Saturday, Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m. The Crimson will host this year's Northern Division tournament at Blodgett Pool Nov. 7-8.
