LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior co-captain Bret Voith had another highlight added to his final season with the Harvard men's water polo team, getting named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-North Division second team Friday.
The recognition is Voith's third such honor, after being named to the CWPA All-North Division first team as a freshman and a junior. Voith was Harvard's only 30-30-30 player in 2010, notching 38 goals, 31 assists and 32 steals on the year. Voith earned CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week honors Oct 13 and was named Harvard's COOP Athlete of the Week on Sept. 13.
Voith had a big weekend in the Crimson's final competition at the Northern Division Championship, putting up nine goals, six assists and seven steals to lead Harvard to a successful 2-1 weekend and a fifth-place finish at the tournament. He also came up big in the Crimson's second tournament of the season, the Princeton Invitational, totaling five goals, four assists and five steals in four games, including three goals against No. 18 Princeton in the Tigers' home pool in a nationally-televised game. Voith led Harvard to its best showing on the West Coast in six years by putting in eight goals, seven assists and six steals over a five-game stretch.
