CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second time this season, freshman Blake Lee has been named the CWPA Northern Division Rookie of the Week.
Lee, who previously won the award on Sept. 24, led the Crimson in goals (6), assists (7) and steals (5) in two contests against St. Francis (N.Y.) and Mercyhurst. Lee established a new career-high for assists in a game with five against the Terriers to surpass his old mark of four set earlier this season against the Lakers.
In the opener against the No. 14 Terriers, Lee netted two goals, handed out those five assists and recorded one steal for the Crimson. Just over two hours later, Lee was back in the pool, and he delivered four goals, two assists and four steals against Mercyhurst. The four thefts matched his career high, which he had previously done three times.
Lee now leads the Crimson in assists (42) and steals (49) and ranks second in goals (49).
Harvard has now won a total of eight CWPA weekly awards this season, six rookie of the week honors, one defensive player of the week nod and one player of the week accolade.
Harvard returns to action Sat. at 1 p.m. against Cornell in the Ivy League Championships.
