Ben Zepfel leads the Crimson with 70 goals on the season.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard freshman Ben Zepfel was named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division First Team, the CWPA announced Friday morning.
Zepfel, who was the lone rookie named to the first team, leads the Crimson with 70 goals and ranks third on the team with 34 steals. He has also contributed nine assists for the squad that finished in third place in the CWPA Northern Division.
It is the fourth CWPA honor for the Corona del Mar product, who was also named CWPA Northern Division Rookie of the Week a league-high three times this season. Zepfel is also the first member of the Harvard men's team to be named to the CWPA first team since Bret Voith '10 was honored in 2009.
The California native was joined on the first team by Brown's James McNamara, Svetozar Stefanovic and Henry Fox, St. Francis' Marko Gencic and Igor Mladenovic and MIT's Craig Cheney.
Zepfel and the rest of the Crimson return to action Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Northern Division rival Brown.
