Woolway Named CWPA Defensive Player of the Week
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore goaltender Colin Woolway was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Woolway anchored the Crimson defense tallying eight saves and two steals as the team defeated then ranked No. 17 Navy, 13-10. The Pasadena, Calif., native tallied six saves against Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays narrowly edged Harvard 11-9. Woolway finished the weekend with 28 saves, two assists and three saves at the Princeton Invitational last weekend.
It's the first time Woolway has earned this honor and the second CWPA weekly award Harvard has won this season. Freshman Joey Colton was named CWPA Rookie of the Week last week after his performance at the Bruno Fall Classic at Brown.
The Crimson hit the road for a three-game road swing beginning at Fordham before traveling to Iona and St. Francis.
