Wood joined the water polo staff at Harvard in September of 2010, reuniting with Ted Minnis who she served with as an assistant coach at Castilleja School for two years.

As Minnis' assistant during his first year at the helm of the Harvard water polo teams, Wood worked with the team's goalies and coordinated practices with Minnis. Wood helped lead both teams to their highest win totals in several years (men - 12, women - 17), and was part of a staff that coached a combined three CWPA all-conference players and seven CWPA players of the week. In 2012, Wood helped guide both programs to seventh-place finishes at Easterns with four Crimson earning all-conference accolades.

Wood continued to help the program improve in 2013. The men won 15 games and finished in seventh place at the CWPA Eastern Championships, while the women finished in sixth at the championships. The men had their first first team All-CWPA Northern Division selection since 2009, and the women had three All-CWPA Southern Division picks, including goalkeeper Ariel Dukes.

Wood, a top recruit for California who was sidelined with injuries, started her coaching career in college when she served as a pool site director and swim instructor for the Little Dipper Swim School. She joined Minnis on the Castilleja staff in August of 2008. During her tenure, Wood served as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant before being promoted to associate head coach. In addition to her water polo duties, she coached the swim team and was a substitute teacher in the fitness and wellness department.

Wood also has experience coaching in the Olympic Development program with Golden Bear Water Polo and College Park High School. She served as the Aquatics Director at the Menlo Country Club for six months and at the Stanford Water Polo Club, she coached the girls U12, U14 and U16.

Away from the pool, Wood was a sales lead for the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, Calif.

Wood graduated from Cal in 2008 with a degree in education and social change.
