Meghan Wareham Garners All-America Recognition
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-Sophomore Meghan Wareham of the Harvard sailing team has been named an All-America crew by the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association.
Wareham was the only underclassman to be honored as a crew All-American. She was named to the All-New England team last month. She was a four-time New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association Sailor of the Week this season. Wareham joins senior skipper Megan Watson, who was previously named an All-American. The two have sailed together for much of Wareham's two years with the Crimson.
The Osterville, Mass., native most recently contributed to the Crimson's sixth-place finish at the ICSA/APS Team Race National Championship and its 10th-place showing at the ICSA/Gill National Dinghy Championship.
Wareham previously starred on the women's side. She helped Harvard reach the ICSA Women's National Championship by contributing to a runner-up team performance at the New England Women's Championship. She teamed up with Watson to as part of Harvard's third-place A-division squad at that regatta.
Before their performance at the New England Women's Championship, Watson and Wareham were honored three times as NEISA Women's Sailors of the Week. They were honored Nov. 2 after winning the A division to help Harvard win the Victorian Coffee Urn. They were later honored March 26, after a fourth-place division finish at the St. Mary's Women's Intersectional, and April 20, following a division win at the Wick and Shrew Trophies.
Wareham was also named Sailor of the Week, along with freshman Emily Lambert, Oct. 14. That honor came after the pair dominated the A division at the Navy Fall Women's Intersectional.
