    The Harvard coed sailing team concluded day one of the ICSA western semi-final sitting in eighth place out of 18 entrants in the regatta held in Annapolis, Md. Senior Brendan Kopp and sophomore Sarah Pierson competed in the A division while Senior Emily Lambert and Freshman Brian Drumm sailed in the B group.

    After finishing the first day in eighth place, the Harvard sailing team ascended up the standings to finish in third at the ICSA regional championship held in Annapolis, Md. Both the A and B division teams had a sterling Sunday as the squads recorded single-digit finishes in nine out of 10 races.

    Senior Brendan Kopp and sophomore Sarah Pierson were honored by the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association today as both received All-NEISA coed first-team accolades. Kopp was named to the first team skippers group while Pierson was included in the first team crew category.
  • Harvard Sailing Places Sixth at New England Team Race Championship

    The Harvard sailing team placed sixth in the Gold Fleet at the New England Team Race Championship on the Charles River. The Crimson won sail-offs with Vermont and Dartmouth to advance to the final day of the regatta. The Crimson finished with five wins in the gold fleet and final six.
  • Harvard Women’s Sailing Qualifies for ISCA Women’s National Championship

    The women’s sailing team, led by a strong performance from the A division, qualified for the ISCA women’s national championship as it tallied a seventh-place finish at the New England Women’s Championship. The coed team also had a stellar weekend as the team placed seventh at the Admirals cup and fifth at the Wellesley Invitational.
  • Kopp and Pierson Named Coed Sailors of the Week

    On the heels of the Crimson’s most impressive regatta performance of the season, the New England Intercollegiate Sailors Association named senior Brendan Kopp and sophomore Sarah Pierson the NEISA Coed Sailors of the week. Kopp and Pierson won the A division at the New England Dinghy Championship helping Harvard to place first for the first time in 11 years.

    The Harvard sailing team captured its first New England Dinghy Championship in 11 years Sunday on the Charles River, moving up from third place with five top-five finishes in 12 races on the final day of competition.

    The Harvard sailing team competed at two regattas this weekend, as it hosted the Central Series 3 regatta and the participated at the President’s trophy hosted by Boston University. The Crimson women’s squad came in eighth at Presidents Trophy, while Harvard finished 12th at the Central Series 3.
  • Harvard Sailing Competes at BU Trophy and Ted Ferrarone Team Race

    The Harvard sailing team competed at the BU Trophy this weekend, where the team finished 13th. Sophomore Luke O’Connor and freshman Rebecca Frankel sailed in the A division, while sophomore Ben Lamont and freshmen Mary Finlayson and Emma Smith competed in the B division. Harvard also competed at the Ted Ferrarone Team Race where the team went 11-9.
  • Harvard Completes Three Regattas over the Weekend

    The Harvard sailing team finished three regattas this weekend as the team took sixth place at the Owen, Mosbacher &Knapp trophies and sixth at the Owen, Mosbacher & Knapp trophies. The Crimson also competed at BU Bridge Invitational where it ended the weekend in sixth place.

    The Harvard women’s sailing team took fourth place at the St. Mary’s Women’s Intersectional this weekend. The A-division pairing of seniors Emily Lambert and Alexandra Jumper helped lead the way for the Crimson as the pair tallied three first-place finishes during the weekend.
  • Harvard Sailing Takes Fourth in its Opening Spring Regatta

    The Harvard sailing team opened its spring season with a fourth-place showing at the Sharpe Trophy, hosted by MIT this weekend. The Crimson went 8-6 in two round robins, and 1-2 in the final four contests, to finish the weekend 9-8 overall.

    The Intercollegiate Sailing Association announced its 2011 All-Academic teams and three Harvard sailors have been selected. Alan Palmer ’11, John Stokes ’11 and Meghan Wareham ’11 were all named to the ICSA first team.

    The Harvard coed sailing team wrapped up its fall season this weekend, placing 11th at the Atlantic Coast Championships, co-hosted by MIT and the Crimson. Harvard closes out the fall campaign with five top-3 finishes and with one regatta crown.

    The Harvard sailing team notched a ninth-place showing at the Hap Moore Team Race, hosted by Coast Guard. The regatta was one of a pair of round-robin team races that the Crimson competed in this weekend, hosting the Horn Trophy.

    The Harvard coed sailing team posted a second-place finish at the 70th Erwin Schell Trophy over the weekend, qualifying for the Atlantic Coast Championship. The Crimson women’s team also competed this weekend placing 14th at the Victorian Urn.

    On a weekend plagued by tough sailing weather, the Harvard sailing team emerged with a fifth-place finish at the Stu Nelson Trophy hosted by Connecticut College. Harvard also competed in three other races including the Hoyt Trophy, Oberg Trophy and BC Invitational.
  • Harvard Sailing Takes Third at the Lark Invitational

    The Harvard sailing team secured six top-three finishes between the A and B divisions, during the regattas five races, lifting the Crimson to a third-place showing at the Lark Invitational Sunday afternoon. Harvard also sailed in the Captain Hurst Bowl, placing 13th in a field of 22 teams during the two-day regatta.
