Harvard Sails at Central Series 3 and President’s Trophy

The Harvard sailing team competed at two regattas this weekend, as it hosted the Central Series 3 regatta and the participated at the President's trophy hosted by Boston University. The Crimson women's squad came in eighth at Presidents Trophy, while Harvard finished 12th at the Central Series 3.

At the President's Trophy, sophomore Morgan Russom and freshman Emma Smith sailed in the A division registering two top-five finishes, and 97 points, which put them eighth in the division. Meanwhile the B division tandem of sophomores Caitlin Watson and Jaquelyn Cooley recorded five top-five finishes and placed seventh in the division, with 81 points. Yale took the trophy as it came in first, while Vermont and Bowdoin rounded out the top three.

The A-division duo of freshman Ansel Duff and junior Jinyan Zang tallied six top-10 finishes during the Central Series 3 and accrued 95 points and 12th  place in the division. Sophomore Michael Lukas and junior Nicholas Gordon registered eight top-10 finishes and took 10th in the B division with 91 points. Salve Regina came in first while two Tufts entries took second and third, respectively.

Harvard will next sail at Oberg Trophy and the New England Dinghy Championship, slated for April 14-15.
