Sailing Takes Ninth at New England Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard coed sailing team finished in ninth place at the 2013 New England Championship this weekend. The Crimson went 2-3 in its quest for the Fowle Trophy.

Harvard paired skippers Brian Drumm, Michael Drumm and Gram Slattery with crew members Jacob Bradt, Isabel Ruane and Sarah Pierson.

The Crimson defeated eventual champion Brown by taking first, second and fourth in the head-to-head battle and topped Boston University by finishing second, third and fourth. Harvard dropped decisions against Boston College, Connecticut College and Dartmouth and failing to advance out of the preliminary round.

Brown won the title with a 13-6 record. Boston College (12-7), Roger Williams (11-8), Yale (11-8) and Tufts (9-10) filled in the top five.
