The No. 19 Harvard coed sailing team’s opening weekend features a pair of regattas. The Crimson will host the Wood Trophy Team Race on the Charles River and venture to St. Mary’s City, Md., for the St. Mary’s Team Race. Sailing at each regatta is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Juan Perdomo of the No. 11 Harvard coed sailing team has been named New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association Coed Sailor of the Week after turning in a runner-up performance at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Singlehanded Championships the NEISA office announced Monday night.

Juan Perdomo of the Harvard sailing coed team sailed to a runner-up performance at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Singlehanded Championships to earn the Griswold Trophy. The No. 11 Crimson coeds competed at three regattas: 2nd Sister Ester Open, Hap Moore Trophy and the Mike Horn Trophy.

Perdomo to Sail for ICSA Men’s Singlehanded National Championship; Coeds Race at Two Regattas
For the first time in six years, a Harvard sailor will vie to be crowned the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Men’s Singlehanded National Champion when freshman Juan Perdomo takes the water in Providence, R.I., Nov. 8-10. The 11th-seeded Crimson coeds are also in action this weekend, at two team races: the Hap Moore Trophy and the Michael Horn Trophy.

On a weekend were New England was plagued by light and variable sailing conditions, the Harvard sailing teams faced the elements and competed in three regattas. The freshman class highlighted the Crimson’s performance as it took third at the Nickerson Trophy, the New England Freshman Championship. The No. 11 coeds sailed at the 73rd Erwin Schell Trophy while the women competed at the 48th Victorian Coffee Urn Trophy.
