Women’s Sailing Eyes NEISA Team Race Championship, Coed Fleet to Vie for Three Regattas
In its final weekend with multiple regattas, Harvard sailing will split up for four events scattered around the Northeast. The women’s squad will race for a chance to compete in the ICSA National Team Race Championship at the NEISA Team Race Championship, while the coed squad will race at the Boston Dinghy Cup Challenge (co-hosted by Harvard and MIT), Admiral’s Cup (at USMMA) and Morris Trophy (at Boston University).

Coed Sailing Posts Three Top-Four Results
Harvard coed sailing competed in four regattas around the Northeast, finishing no lower than seventh with three top-four results. The Crimson had its best outing at the Owen/Mosbacher/Knapp Trophy, coming in second, while also finishing third at the Oberg Trophy and fourth at Savin Central Series Four.

Four Regattas Lie Ahead for Coed Sailing
With two full weekends remaining on the spring schedule, Harvard coed sailing will split up for four regattas around the Northeast. The Crimson will scatter to the Owen/Mosbacher/Knapp Trophy (at Yale), Thompson Trophy (at Coast Guard), Oberg Trophy (at MIT/Northeastern), and Savin Central Series Four (at Boston College).

Coed Sailing Takes Fifth at NEISA Team Race Championship
Hosting the NEISA Team Race Championship with a chance to qualify for the National Team Race Championship, Harvard finished one spot out of the top-four, placing fifth with a 10-8 record.

Andrew Mollerus, a junior on the Harvard sailing team, was honored this week, as one of 24 members of the class of 2016 to receive election into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.

While a pair of regattas were left incomplete due to unsailable conditions, Harvard coed sailing finished second at the Marchiando Trophy Team Race for its third-straight week with a runner up finish.

With no cancellations for the first time this season, Harvard coed and women’s sailing will send student-athletes to four regattas, including Central Series Three, which will be hosted by the Crimson. The coeds will also race at the Marchiando Team Race, hosted by MIT, and BU Trophy, while the women’s squad will sail at the Dellenbaugh Trophy at Brown.

Coed sailing posted a second-place finish at Central Series Four and fourth-place finishes at the Smith Trophy and Olympians Regatta in Harvard’s busiest weekend of the year. Freshman Taylor Ladd finished 12th at the NEISA Women’s Singlehanded Championships, while the Crimson’s coed squad also logged eighth-place finishes at the Danmark Trophy and Harvard Invitational.
