CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior outfielder Stephanie Regan of the Harvard softball team has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District Team, the organization announced this week. Regan is one of three Ivy League players to receive the distinction.
Regan helped the Crimson to a 12-8 Ivy League record in her senior season, good for second in the Ivy North Division. She finished the season ranked fourth on the team with a .311 batting average in 41 games, collecting 37 hits, 11 of which were doubles. She slugged .403 for the season and drove in 12 runs for the Crimson. Regan ranked third on the team with 23 runs scored in 2013, and chipped in a pair of steals for Harvard.
At the end of season banquet, she garnered one of the five team awards, receiving the Betty Ippolito Legacy Award. The honor is given annually to the player who has done the most to continue the tradition of excellence in Harvard softball.
Regan is a two-time All-Ivy League selection, garnering first-team credentials as a sophomore and second-team honors last season. She is a human developmental and regenerative biology concentrator at Harvard.
