Softball Adds Seven Freshmen for 2013-14 Campaign

Harvard has its sights set on a return trip to the Ivy League Championship Series in 2014 (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -
Coming off a 22-22 season the Harvard softball team will bolster its 2014 roster with seven incoming freshman, head coach Jenny Allard announced Friday. The incoming septet represents five different states with two each coming from California and Florida.

"We are thrilled to welcome this group of talented young women who possess the character and work ethic that is characteristic of Harvard softball," said Allard. "We look for them to make an immediate impact on and off the field."

The Crimson finished second in the Ivy League North standings in 2013 and graduated four seniors from last season. Returning most starters from last year and bringing in seven freshmen, the squad is looking to regain its form from two years ago in hopes of winning the Ivy League. Returnees from last year’s team include three first team All-Ivy League players as well as one second team All-Ivy League player.
