Juanise Cornell joined the Harvard women's basketball staff forthe 2011-12 season.
Cornell, who played at Colorado State from 2006-09, is a 2010graduate of Colorado Christian with a degree in speechcommunications.
At Colorado State, Cornell was a two-time team MVP as well asthe program’s Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman. Shebroke the Mountain West Conference freshman rebounding record in2006-07 and left CSU among the school’s all-time leaders inrebounds per game, offensive rebounds and free throws. All told,Cornell appeared in 90 games at CSU and started 85.
At Colorado Christian, Cornell led her team to a Rocky MountainAthletic Conference championship and was named the Central RegionWomen’s Player of the Year.
Off the court, Cornell served as CSU’s firstrepresentative on a national sports committee when she served onthe Division I Women’s Basketball Issues Committee. She was atwo-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and afour-year member of the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Collins, Colo.
A native of Azusa, Calif., Cornell was a two-time CIF Player ofthe Year at Bishop Amat Memorial High School, leading her schooltwo consecutive state championships while posting a career recordof 119-7.
