Oxford, Savarese Beat Cambridge at the Newton Women’s Boat Race

LONDON – For the sixth time in seven years, Oxford – with former Harvard-Radcliffe standout Laura Savarese '13 in the six seat – defeated Cambridge in the Newton Women's Boat Race Sunday.

The Dark Blues won the 2K race by four lengths in 5:50

The Newton Women's Boat Race is an annual contest between the rowing crews from Oxford and Cambridge universities. Highlights can be seen before the men's race April 6 on BBC One.

A two-time CRCA Scholar-Athlete, Savarese rowed in the fifth and sixth seat for the first and second varsity as a senior, recording five wins and a second-place finish at the NCAA Women's Rowing Championships Petite Final.
