CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight crew opens the 2017 season at Lake Belleville in Michigan, as the Black and White will face No. 2 Ohio State and No. 4 Michigan in a double dual Saturday.
Saturday's competition marks the earliest Harvard-Radcliffe has begun the season since 2012 (March 24). No. 9 Yale will also race against the Buckeyes and the Wolverines, but the Bulldogs will not race the Black and White Saturday.

Radcliffe swept the Eastern Sprints titles and finished fourth at the Ivy League Championships.
Scouting No. 2 Ohio State
The second-ranked Buckeyes are receiving three first-place votes in the US Rowing/CRCA Preseason Poll. Ohio State finished second at last year's NCAA Championships and became the first team in NCAA history to win three-consecutive 1V8 crowns. Andy Teitelbaum is in his 22nd season as head coach of the Buckeyes and has guided the Scarlet and Gray to three NCAA championships and seven Big Ten titles.
Scouting No. 4 Michigan
The Wolverines are coming off a 10th-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Rowing Championships. Mark Rothstein is the only head coach in Michigan's 19-year history and has led the team to two national titles and five Big Ten titles.

Radcliffe opened the season receiving votes in the CRCA/USRowing Coaches Preseason Poll. Cal sits atop the poll, followed by Ohio State, Washington, Michigan and Brown.

In her 31st season of guiding the Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight crews in 2016-17, head coach Liz O'Leary owns a 201-104 career dual record with 16 appearances in the NCAA Championship, including the 2003 title and a 2005 bronze medal finish.
