The Radcliffe lightweight crew swept a pair of races from Georgetown in sunny D.C., Saturday  morning and took home the Class of 2004 Cup for winning the varsity eight race.

The varsity eight kicked off the regatta with a convincing win. Radcliffe opened up a lead of one length on the Hoyas through the first 500 meters, before pulling away to win with open water. The crew benefited for a cross wind and outgoing tide to finish in 6:32.3.

In the only other race of the day, the Black and White's second varsity four competed closely through the first 500 meters but also came away with a victory. Radcliffe completed the course in 7:22.9.

Radcliffe has next weekend off to prepare for some of the best competition in the nation April 20-21. The Black and White hosts Princeton on the Charles River April 20 and joins the Tigers, Stanford, Wisconsin, MIT and BU on the Charles April 21. Each day's racing will be video streamed live on for free.
