CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Radcliffe lightweight crew will race on the Charles River for the first time this spring, as the Black and White hosts Bates College Sunday, April 2.

Sunday's race will mark the first time Radcliffe and Bates College have met in a dual.
Radcliffe placed second at the Eastern Sprints Championships and was third at the IRA National Championships.
The Bobcats earned a second-place finish (behind Wellesley) at last year's NCAA Division III National Championships. Peter Steenstra enters his ninth season as both the women's and men's coach and led the Bobcats to the 2015 NCAA Division III title. Last weekend, Bates, ranked third nationally in Division III, placed fifth in the petite final at the Murphy Cup in Philadelphia.
Dating back to April 21, 2012, Radcliffe has won 25 of 29 dual races. Last week, the Black and White varsity eight fell at Georgetown, as the Hoyas outpaced Radcliffe, 6:09.7 to 6:17.6.
In the Launch
In her second season at the helm, Radcliffe lightweights head coach Sarah Baker guided the Black and White to a 5-2 dual record last season, as well as a second-place finish at Easterns and a bronze medal at IRAs. Baker has a 5-3 career record at Radcliffe.
