Kiefer and Mills Win Gold for No. 3 Harvard Women's Fencing at NCAA Regional

Freshman Alexandra Kiefer won the NCAA Northeast Region women's foil title Sunday (Harvard Athletic Communications).

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Freshman Alexandra Kiefer claimed another title in the foil and junior Noam Mills came out on top in the epee as the No. 3 Harvard women's fencing team had seven top-15 finishes at the NCAA Northeast Region Championship at Vassar College.

Kiefer topped 41 fencers Sunday to take home the Northeast Region individual championship. Sophomore Katherine Chou finished eighth and junior Shelby MacLeod came in 12th. Mills was at the top of the list of 50 athletes at day's end to take home the individual crown in the epee. Sophomore Felicia Sun finished sixth in the competition and freshman Dakota Root wrapped up the day in 26th place.

Junior co-captains Hayley Levitt and Caroline Vloka both finished in the top 15 of the saber event, with Levitt winding up 11th and Vloka coming in 13th.

Selections for the NCAA Championship March 24-27 in Columbus, Ohio, will be finalized Tuesday.
