Buesser, Dempsey Take Home Weekly ECAC Hockey Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard junior forward
Kate Buesser was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week, while
freshman forward Jillian Dempsey was honored as the conference
Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon.
Buesser, a native of Wolfeboro, N.H., established a new career-high
with four points on a goal and three assists Sunday, as Harvard
defeated Quinnipiac, 7-2, at Bright Hockey Center. Buesser, who
leads Harvard with eight points on three goals and five assists
this season, handed out two assists in the first period against the
Bobcats, and another in the second frame. Buesser then capped the
game’s scoring with a goal at 13:57 of the third period. On
Saturday afternoon, Buesser assisted on the game-tying goal with
1:26 remaining in the third period against Princeton.
Dempsey, who hails from Winthrop, Mass., lit the lamp twice against
Quinnipiac, scoring Harvard’s first goal at 4:14 of the first
period, and then again later on at 11:29 of the second. She also
assisted on the game-winning tally by teammate Leanna Coskren,
finishing the game with a +2 rating.
Harvard will host fourth-ranked New Hampshire at Bright Hockey
Center Wednesday at 7 p.m.
