McDonald Scores for ECAC Hockey All-Stars in Exhibition Against Team USA

HAMDEN, Conn. -- Senior forward Anna McDonald scored a
goal, while senior defender Cori Bassett and junior forward Kate
Buesser each handed out an assist for the ECAC Hockey All-Stars in
an exhibition game against the U.S. Hockey Women's National Team
Sunday afternoon at the TD Bank Sports Center. Team USA emerged
with an 8-2 victory.
With the ECAC Hockey All-Stars trailing 5-1 late in the second
period, Buesser connected with McDonald for a goal at 16:51,
cutting the deficit to three goals. Bassett, a co-captain of the
Crimson, dished out an assist earlier in the second period on a
tally by Bray Ketchum at 12:12.
Former Crimson skaters Caitlin Cahow '07-08, Angela Ruggiero
'02-04 and Julie Chu '06-07 figured prominently in the scoring for
Team USA. Cahow found the back of the net for two goals, one each
in the first and second periods, while Ruggiero opened the game by
lighting the lamp only 21 seconds into action. Chu had two assists
in the game, including one on Ruggiero's goal.
Team USA will continue to prepare for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics
and will open competition at the Olympics against China Feb.

No. 5 Harvard will return to action by visiting Princeton and
Quinnipiac in ECAC Hockey action next weekend. The Crimson will
visit the Tigers Jan. 8 and travel to Hamden, Conn., to face the
Bobcats Jan. 9.
