CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior forward Kate Buesser of the Harvard women’s hockey team was recently tabbed to the New England Hockey Writers All-Star Team as a forward. Buesser, who will serve as a captain of the Crimson during the 2010-11 season, earned her first nod to the all-star team.
A native of Wolfeboro, N.H., Buesser was a nominee for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, presented annually to the nation’s top player. She was named to the All-ECAC Hockey and All-Ivy League first team, as well as the ECAC Hockey All-Star Team. She led Harvard with career-highs in goals (16), assists (24) and points (40) and stood second in ECAC Hockey action with 32 points (12-20-32).
She had 10 multiple-point games and concluded the season with an eight-game point streak. Buesser will act as a captain for Harvard next season, along with junior defender Leanna Coskren and junior forward Liza Ryabkina.
