CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Three Harvard women's hockey players, including Michelle Picard, Josephine Pucci and Lyndsey Fry, as well as former Crimson Julie Chu '06-07 have been named to the United States roster for the 2012 Four Nations Cup. The team will be coached by Team USA head coach Katey Stone, who is also The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey.

"We've got a terrific team assembled to compete in the Four Nations Cup," Stone told USA Hockey. "I feel this tournament will provide an excellent gauge of where we are as a team as we continue to evaluate players and progress toward the 2014 Olympics."

The Four Nations Cup, which will be played in Vantaa, Finland, is slated to feature a round-robin style tournament between the U.S., Canada, Finland and Sweden with ensuing bronze and gold medal games. The United States, which is looking to defend its Four Nations Cup title from 2011, opens up the tournament Nov. 6 against Sweden. The red, white and blue will play Canada Nov. 7 and Finland Nov. 9 before playing for a spot on the podium Nov. 10.

Harvard's Picard and Pucci were on the 2011 team that won the cup with a 4-3 (OT, SO) win over Canada, while Fry is a newcomer to the Four Nations Cup. Fry does have Team USA experience, as she was part of the U.S. Under-22 Select Team, which also included Picard, Pucci, Jillian Dempsey, and Marissa Gedman, that swept Canada in a three-game series Aug. 16-19. Picard picked up an assist in the series to help lead the United States to the sweep.

Chu is the veteran of the 23-player U.S. roster having competed in 10 previous Four Nations tournaments and three Olympics. She was a three-time All-American in Cambridge and won the 2007 Patty Kazmaier Award, given to the nation's top collegiate player.

Team USA will hold a training camp in New York Rangers' training facility in Tarrytown, N.Y., Oct. 30 – Nov. 4. The camp will include selected members of the U.S. Women's Under-18 squad, as the 11 Four Nations players on NCAA rosters will join the team in Finland.
