Women's Hockey Will Host Its Second "White the Bright" Dec. 7 vs. Boston College

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's hockey team will host its annual "White the Bright" game Dec. 7 when crosstown rival Boston College visits the Bright-Landry Hockey Center with the goal of breaking the program's attendance record for the top-10 showdown. The Crimson's record since women's hockey became an NCAA sport is 1,921 fans, set Jan. 11, 2004 in a matchup with Dartmouth.

Harvard will provide a number of ways to receive free tickets, while also having free giveaways and gameday promotions for fans. Attendees are especially encouraged to wear white in an attempt to "White the Bright." Any fan that wears white will be able to spin the Harvard Athletics' prize wheel to win prizes such as t-shirts, rally towels and more.

There are increased incentives for Harvard undergraduate students to attend "White the Bright" Dec. 7. Students can stop by the Harvard marketing table prior to the game to pick up a free white "Beat Yale" t-shirt and also get free pizza and other food. All students who swipe into the game will receive another entry into the Student Rewards spring semester grand prize.

During the game, there will be more to do than just watch the No. 6-ranked Crimson take on the fifth-ranked Eagles. Aside from the prize wheel and student incentives, there also will be a youth hockey raffle and promotions during each intermission, including the always popular HUECU Chuck-A-Puck. The youth hockey raffle will enter all teams in attendance into a drawing to win a free PHD program at the (DATE) game against (OPPONENT). All youth teams are encouraged to stop by the marketing table to enter the PHD raffle, grab a free rally towel and participate in a sign-making station with white signs and decorations.

Led by Interim Head Coach Maura Crowell, the Crimson (6-1-1, 6-1-1 ECAC) is off to yet another stellar start. Harvard ranks highly in both offensive and defensive categories in the nation, boasting the No. 15-ranked attack (2.75 goals per game) and a top-3 defense, allowing just 1.12 goals per game, while recording four shutouts.
