Each week, GoCrimson.com will take an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the members of the Harvard women's hockey team. Today features freshman defenseman Natasha Rachlin. (Photo: Elan Kawesch)
Why did you choose Harvard?
I liked the city atmosphere and the academics, combined with a great team.
Whom do you model your game after, and why?
My favorite NHL player is Daniel Paille, a forward on the Boston Bruins. Even though he's on the fourth line and doesn't always get a lot of playing time, every time he steps on the ice, he gives it his all. I admire his hustle and determination.
Is there any significance as to why you wear your number?
I like single digits and 7 seemed like a pretty cool one. I hadn't ever worn it before this year.
What's your favorite pregame meal?
Chicken broccoli and ziti is my favorite.
Do you have any superstitions before getting on the ice?
What are three words you would use to describe yourself as a hockey player?
Determined, resilient and intuitive.
What/who are you listening to pregame?
My favorite thing to listen to is the "Ignition" radio station on Pandora.
What is your favorite thing about Cambridge/Boston?
I like that there's always something happening, and it's busy.
What other Harvard team do you enjoy watching as a fan?
I like watching field hockey, soccer and lacrosse.
If you could have a superpower, which one would you chose?
