The Harvard women’s lacrosse team is receiving votes in
the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Women’s Media Poll.
The Crimson is one of five Ivy League teams recognized in the media
poll, which is more than any other conference.
Harvard, who finished 6-10 overall last season and 2-5 in Ivy
League play, returns nine starters from 2009 and welcome nine
newcomers. Three of the top four scorers return from a season ago,
including first-team All-Ivy League performer Jess Halpern who led
the Crimson and the Ancient Eight in goals and points per game.
The Crimson will play its first four games on the season on the
road starting with the season-opener Feb. 27 at Massachusetts.
Harvard will host eight home games this year: Boston University
(March 17), Cornell (March 20), Brown (March 27), Bryant (March
28), Holy Cross (April 14), Princeton April (17), Dartmouth (April
21) and Boston College (May 5).
In preparation for the season, the team will start practices this
week in the Harvard Stadium Bubble.
