Freshman Jennifer VanderMeulen was named Rookie of the Week by WomensLacrosse.com for her five-goal, two-caused turnover performance in Harvard’s upset of Boston College last week.
In the final game of her rookie season, VanderMeulen continued to prove why she was named first-team All-Ivy League and Ivy League Rookie of the Year, firing off five goals on five shots in Harvard’s 17-9 win over the Eagles in the season finale.
The native of Liverpool, N.Y., was recognized by womenslacrosse.com two other times this season, earning a spot on the honor roll March 1 and April 19.
VanderMeulen, who led the Ancient Eight and was fourth in the nation in goals per game, finished the season with 56 goals, which stands fifth in Harvard history for goals in a single season.
