Harvard Women’s Lacrosse Ranked 15th in Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's lacrosse team has been ranked No. 15 in the 2013 Inside Lacrosse preseason poll, it was announced Monday.

The Crimson, which is coming off a 9-7 season in 2012, joins No. 10 Penn and No. 11 Dartmouth as Ivy League teams to appear in the preseason rankings. Harvard, which is entering its sixth season under head coach Lisa Miller, will face four teams ranked in the Inside Lacrosse poll in 2013, including No. 3 Northwestern (March 17), Penn (March 9), Dartmouth (April 26) and No. 19 Boston College (April 17).
The Crimson went 5-2 in the Ivy League last spring, finishing tied for second in the conference, and advanced to the Ivy League tournament semifinal, reaching as high as No. 20 in the national polls during the season.
Harvard opens the 2013 campaign at Stanford Feb. 24, and will host Penn in the home opener March 9.

Senior midfielder Micaela Cyr will serve as captain for the upcoming season. Cyr, who earned All-Ivy honors last spring, is one of five Harvard players who return who garnered all-conference accolades last year, including Danielle Tetreault, Mariel Jenkins, Jennifer VanderMeulen and Kelly Weis
