Keith Finishes Eighth at FILA Nationals Earns All-America Honors

Harvard freshman Steven Keith finished eighth at the ASICS University & FILA Cadet Nationals to become a Freestyle All-American.
Keith went 3-3 at 55 kg (121.5 lbs.) to land on the medal stand. He started the meet off with a technical fall of Chris Lyons of Michigan Wrestling by a score of 7-0, 7-0. Keith went on to defeat Kidd Gomez of OCU Cobra Stars by decision, 6-2, 0-2, 6-0. After a loss to Greg Cannon of Oklahoma, who placed sixth, Keith won his next match, a 5-11, 3-3, 7-0 decision over Cody Tyler of the Maverick Wrestling Club. Keith lost his next match to Maryland’s Pat Strizki, 4-2, 1-3, 5-2. He was injured during the match and was forced to forfeit the seventh-place bout.
Keith went 20-12 as a rookie at 125 pounds this season. He finished third at the EIWA Championships and earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships.
