Wrestling Returns to Action at Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite; Peppelman and Keith Featured in Rankings

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a week away from the mat, the Harvard wrestling team is set to return to action Dec. 2-3 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.

Walter Peppelman enters the tournament as the seventh-ranked wrestler at 157 lbs. according to this week's Division I Rankings. Peppelman owns a 7-1 record this season and most recently won the Binghamton Open for the first tournament title of his career. The junior has won one bout by major decision and two by fall, moving him to seventh on Harvard's career pins list with 18.

Steven Keith also remains in the InterMat Rankings for a third straight week and has moved up two spots to No. 18 at 133 lbs. Keith is 7-2 on the year after placing third at the Binghamton Open and second at the Keystone Classic.

Other Crimson currently on the rise are junior Paul Ligouri, sophomore Cameron Croy and freshmen James Fox and David Ng. Ligouri is 9-3 on the year at 149 lbs. with four major decisions, two tech falls and two falls. Ligouri took second at the Binghamton Open and fifth at the Keystone Classic. Croy, meanwhile, has posted a 9-3 mark at 184 lbs. with a fourth-place showing at Binghamton and a runner-up finish at the Keystone.

Fox, a 197-pounder, is 6-3 in his first season at Harvard after placing fourth at Binghamton and third at the Keystone. Ng placed sixth at the Binghamton Open and fifth at the Keystone Classic for an overall record of 4-6 at heavyweight.
