Seven Grapplers Will Join Harvard Wrestling for 2013-14 Season
Harvard wrestling will add seven freshmen to a roster that returns six EIWA placewinners (Robert Preston).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Jay Weiss, the David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling, has announced that seven incoming freshmen will be added to the Crimson's roster for the 2013-14 season; Zachary Dinan, Samuel Ekanem, Tyler Grimaldi, Colby Knight, Eric Morris, Colton Peppelman and Brad Perkins. The seven member class of 2017 hails from five different states, represents five different weight classes and is made up of three All-Americans, two state champions and a private school state champion.
"This is a great group that will be joining us in the fall. Not only are they accomplished on the mat, I feel they have the character necessary to make us even stronger off the mat as well," commented Weiss. "We have young men coming in that have competed and succeeded at the national level, and have very few losses in their careers. I am very anxious to get them in the fold because we have something big stirring here at Harvard."

Zachary Dinan, 5-8, 141 lbs., New York, N.Y.
2012-13 captain, four-year letterwinner ... Led Horace Mann to three consecutive Ivy League team championships and NYS Private School team state championships in 2010, 2011 and 2012 ... Won back-to-back Ivy League individual championships wrestling in 2013 at 138 lbs., and 2012 at 126 lbs. .... NYS Private School champion wrestler as a senior ... Mamroneck Wrestling Tournament champion as a junior ... Qualified for National Prep championships in 2013 ... Named All-State as a senior and junior ... Samuel Ekanem, 6-2, 174 lbs., Westland, Mich.
Three-time captain, three-year letterwinner ... Helped Wayne Memorial to a Kensington Lakes Athletic Association division championship as a junior ... Became the Michigan USA Wrestling Freestyle State Champion at 182 lbs. in 2012 ... Named All-State for his eighth-place finish at the MHSAA championships as a senior ... In 2013 named first team All-Area ... Named All-League for three consecutive seasons ... Named team MVP as a senior and sophomore ... Also a two-time captain, three-year letterwinner in football ...
