Women's Rugby Pushes Past Brown, 31-5, To Clinch Berth In League Championship

Harvard will play for a league title Sunday against Dartmouth (Gil Talbot).

HANOVER, N.H. - In its first season as a varsity program, the Harvard women's rugby team earned a spot in the Ivy League Championship game, downing Brown, 31-5, Saturday at Dartmouth's Corey Road Rugby Complex.

The Crimson entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed and faced off against the Bears for the second time this season. In the first matchup against Brown this season, the Crimson cruised by the perennially strong Bears, 57-7, in Providence, R.I.

In the other semifinal Saturday, top-seeded Dartmouth remained perfect on the season with a hard-fought 12-10 win over Princeton, who gained entry into the tourney via play-in game.

The Crimson will take on the Big Green for the Ivy title Sunday at noon. Harvard will be looking for some revenge against Dartmouth, as the Big Green edged Harvard, 10-5, in a meeting earlier this season.
