  • Women’s Rugby & Soccer Alumna Cheta Emba ’15 Selected to the Women’s Rugby World Cup

    Former Harvard women’s rugby and soccer player Cheta Emba ‘15 has been selected to represent the United States women’s rugby team in the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup, as announced on Tuesday. The 12-nation event is set for Aug. 9-26 in Ireland

When I came to Harvard I had no aspirations to be a varsity athlete; now I’m a two-time All-American rugby player. On the field, success is always sweet—it’s especially great being recognized as a force by opposing coaches—but what those coaches don’t see is how being a varsity athlete at Harvard has changed me as a person.

  • Women’s Rugby Wraps Up Season at NIRA 7s Challenge Tournament

    Harvard women’s rugby will conclude its 2017 campaign at the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) 7s Challenge tournament hosted by Dartmouth Sunday, April 30. The Crimson will face off with West Chester, Army, AIC and Dartmouth in pool play, before the playoff round that begins at 4:20 p.m.
  • Women’s Rugby Crowned at Ivy 7s Championship

    The Harvard women’s rugby team collected its second consecutive Ivy 7s Championship with a 10-5 win over Dartmouth in the finals Sunday afternoon. The Crimson outscored the Big Green, 10-0, in the second half to take control of the match and earn the Ivy title.

    Harvard women’s rugby is set for the Ivy 7s Championship as it heads to Hanover, New Hampshire this Sunday for a chance at the Ivy crown. The Crimson takes on Columbia, Penn and Dartmouth before the final Ivy playoff round begins.

    The Harvard women’s rugby team finished 3-1 at the AIC 7s Tournament Sunday, earning three-straight victories before falling to Quinnipiac, 39-0, in the semifinal round. The Crimson defeated Norwich ‘A’, Boston and West Chester with a strong defensive effort, allowing just 12 points total over the three-game stretch.

    The Harvard women’s rugby team finished 4-1 at the Crimson 7s Tournament Saturday, earning a runner-up finish after falling 22-10 to Quinnipiac in the Cup Championship match. Harvard made the title game after taking down the University of New Hampshire, Sacred Heart, American International College and West Chester.
  • Women’s Rugby to Host Third Annual Crimson 7s Tournament Saturday

    The Harvard women’s rugby team is set to open action this spring as it hosts the third annual Crimson 7s Tournament at Roberto A. Mignone Field on Saturday, March 25. Eight teams will participate in the tournament, with a total of 20 games played throughout the day. Every match will be broadcast live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
