CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard women's soccer
team was recently honored by the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America with its Team Academic Award for the 2009-10
academic year.
To be eligible for the award, a team must own a minimum cumulative
grade-point average of 3.0 or better. The Crimson surpassed that
mark and posted a 3.40 overall GPA during the 2009-10 academic
year.
Harvard players have been honored individually for their academic
success this season, as Melanie Baskind received a nod to the ESPN
The Magazine Academic All-America second team, as well as the
Academic All-District first team this season. Katherine
Sheeleigh also earned a spot on the Academic All-District squad, as
she was tabbed to the second team.
