Kanten Takes Home Ivy Co-Rookie of the Week Honors
Bethany Kanten has made 31 saves and owns a 1.05 goals-against average on the season (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman goalkeeper Bethany Kanten of the Harvard women’s soccer team has been tabbed the Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Kanten shares the honor with Yale freshman goalie Elise Wilcox.
Kanten, a native of Park City, Utah, helped the Crimson
improve to 9-4-1 and 3-0-1 in the Ivy League by posting wins over
Siena, 2-0, and Brown, 2-1, last week. Kanten, who was also tabbed
Ivy Rookie of the Week Sept. 26, earned the shutout against the
Saints Tuesday, and then recorded a career-high nine saves,
including seven in the second half alone, in the key Ancient Eight
win over the Bears.
