O’Malley Named Volunteer Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Ray Leone, who is entering his sixth season as the Harvard women's soccer head coach, has announced the hiring of Kerry Lyn O'Malley as the volunteer assistant coach for the upcoming soccer season.

O'Malley was the assistant coach at St. Bonaventure since 2010 and helped the Bonnies appear in four straight A-10 Tournament appearances.  Before St. Bonaventure, O'Malley was the women's soccer assistant coach at Brandeis University from 2007-10.  At Brandies, she helped coach the Owls to two ECAC championships and a second round appearance at the NCAA tournament.

Before entering coaching, O'Malley played collegiate soccer as a student at St Bonaventure from 2004-06 and served as team captain for two years.  She also played for the Providence College Friars as an undergraduate from 2002-03.  During her time with the Friars, she was named to the Big East All-Rookie team and to the Soccer Buzz All-Northeast rookie team.

O'Malley was a leader before entering college as well.  While playing at Longmeadow High School in Longmeadow, Mass., O'Malley was named the Massachusetts Player of the Year and an NSCAA High School All-American in 2001.
