Margolius Named Ivy League Player of the Week
Margolius earned her first Ivy weekly accolade after posting three points in the win over Brown.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Behind a three-point outing in the 3-1 win over Brown, junior defender Marie Margolius has been named Ivy League Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Margolius netted the game-winning goal – her second of the season – against the Bears and tallied an assist on the insurance goal. Freshman forward Margaret Purce was named to the weekly honor roll.
Margolius becomes the second-straight Crimson student-athlete to win Player of the Week honors, as Purce earned both Player and Rookie of the Week accolades a week ago.
Coming into the season without a point, Margolius now stands tied for second on the team with nine points through 13 games (four goals, one assist).
Harvard (8-3-2, 4-0) looks to continue its 10-game unbeaten streak this weekend against Princeton. The Crimson and the Tigers are set to kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday at Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium.
