U.S. and Germany Advance Past Group Stage in FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup

The United States and Germany have both advanced past the group stage of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. 

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Both Margaret Purce and Marie Becker of the Harvard women's soccer team have advanced to the second stage of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup with their respective national teams.

Both squads will play in the knockout stage this weekend, with Purce and the U.S. squaring off with North Korea on Saturday (Aug. 16) at 5 p.m. ET, before Becker and the Germans take on Cup host Canada at 8 p.m.

A rising sophomore at Harvard, Purce has seen 202 minutes of action over the American's three contests, while Becker, an incoming freshman in 2014, has yet to see time with Germany.
