No. 2 Women's Squash Downs Dartmouth, 9-0

HANOVER, N.H. -- The second-ranked Harvard women's squash team improved to 3-0 on the season by earning a 9-0 win at No. 9 Dartmouth Wednesday evening.  The Crimson, now 2-0 in the Ivy League, won 27 of 28 games on the night.

At the No. 1 position, Laura Gemmell earned her second win of the season by sweeping Valeria Wiens, 3-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-4).  Nirasha Guruge dropped her first game to Corey Schafer at the No. 2 slot, 9-11, but took the next three games, 11-9, 11-5, 11-7, to clinch the match.  At the No. 3 spot, June Tiong cruised to a 3-0 win against Becky Lau (11-5, 11-4, 11-8).

The Crimson also won spots 4-9 with 3-0 sweeps against Big Green players.  Alisha Mashruwala defeated Libbey Brown (11-7, 11-9, 11-5) at the No. 4, Natasha Kingshoot took down Hannah Conant (11-4, 11-6, 11-5) at the fifth spot, and Katherine O'Donell topped Sarah Loucks (11-8, 11-4, 11-5) at the No. 6 position.  Sarah Mumanachit earned a 3-0 win at the No. 7 against Maura Doherty (11-9, 11-3, 11-3), Bethany Williams downed Julia Watson (11-9, 11-3, 11-3) at th No. 8 spot, and Johanna Snyder collected a 3-0 win against Caroline Lindseth at the No. 9 position (11-4, 11-5, 11-1).

Harvard will host No. 6 Cornell Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Barnaby Courts.
