National Champion Womens Squash Team Honored at Lavietes

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After winning the College Squash
Association national team championship, the Harvard women’s
squash team was honored during halftime of the Harvard
women’s basketball game against Dartmouth Tuesday evening.
The women’s squash team captured the 12th national team
title in program history this season. Harvard defeated Penn, 6-3,
in the national final Feb. 28, posting a perfect 12-0 overall
record. The Crimson also claimed the Ivy League crown and the
Barhite Award, presented to the team with the best dual-match
record.
Freshman Laura Gemmell and senior Katherine O’Donnell were
also recognized for their success at the CSA Individual
Championships. Gemmell completed her rookie season with a perfect
16-0 record as she won the individual national title, as well as
the Ramsay Cup. O’Donnell finished first in the
“B” Division at the CSA Individual Championships, and
was awarded with the Holleran Cup.
