The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team continued its streak of 9-0 victories on Saturday, downing No. 7 Cornell for the Crimson's fifth win of the season.

The match at the Belkin Squash Courts was conducted using a three court system with No. 3, 6 and 9 competing first. Captain Alisha Mashruwala and Bethan Williams each captured straight set victories from the No. 3 and 9 spots, respectively.

Spots 2, 5 and 8 followed with the first five-set match of the year taking place for a Harvard student-athlete. Nirasha Guruge, competing in the No. 2 spot, was able to overcome losing the first set, and also allowing Jamie Laird to tie the match by winning the fourth set, and walk away with the win, 3-11,12-10,11-3,4-11,11-9.

Harvard concluded the sweep by winning the final three individual matches. Laura Gemmell easily defeated Jesse Pacheco, 11-3, 11-2, 11-4, in the No. 1 spot.

The Crimson will take some time off and next be in action on Jan. 19 at Bates.
