HARTFORD, Conn. – The Harvard women's squash team, ranked No. 1 in the College Squash Association (CSA) poll, continued its winning ways with an 8-1 win over No. 5 Trinity Saturday afternoon in Hartford, Conn. The Crimson broke out to a 5-1 lead to clinch the match and cruise past the Bantams.

Amanda Sobhy won her third match of the season, all in the No. 1 position, with a convincing 3-0 sweep of Cataline Pelaez. The Bantams No. 1 player is coming off an All-American season in which she reached the quarterfinals of the CSA individual championship.

Harvard, which won for the fifth consecutive time over Trinity, also received wins from Laura Gemmell (No. 2), Nirasha Guruge (No. 3) and Haley Mendez (No. 4) in the top four. Gemmell remained undefeated, advancing to 6-0 this season.

Senior co-captain Cece Cortes (No. 6), Sarah Mumanachit (No. 7), Julianne Chu (No. 8) and Megan Murray (No. 9) gave the Crimson a strong bottom four.  Mumanachit won a hard fought match, as the junior topped Robyn Hodgson, 11-9, to take the match in the fifth game.

The Crimson will play a pair of Ivy League matches next with visits to No. 16 Columbia (Feb. 3) and No. 7 Cornell (Feb. 5).
